How is TrueDark Blue Light Blocking Eyewear Different?
Old-school orange blue blockers block too much blue spectrum during the day. This messes up your circadian rhythm throughout the day as they put your SCN in a permanent state of twilight. If used constantly over time, it can actually reform your brain. (The Suprachiasmatic Nucleus/SCN helps to control the body’s sleep-wake cycle and other daily fluctuations)
At night, they are only blocking the blue spectrum, which is a good start, but it’s only half of the solution. To get your best night’s sleep, you need to block at least 90% of the wavelengths in the range of 495-570nm.
